David Ray has published numerous collections of poetry and won many awards for his writing. He has twice won the William Carlos Williams Prize from the Poetry Society of America (1979 & 1994). In 2001, he was awarded the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation Poetry Prize. One Thousand Years: Poems about the Holocaust, published by Timberline Press, was a finalist for the Paterson Poetry Prize in 2005.
