Robert Dyer, calling himself a riverlorian, is a legend in the Missouri folk scene. Musician, folklorist, story-teller, film-maker, historian, poet, and artist, Dyer published numerous books and recorded nearly as many musical albums. Timberline’s edition of Oracle of the Turtle was the third and final incarnation of Dyer’s vision of the book which blends Missouri River imagery with the I Ching. Bob died two weeks before the book was published.
