Since Timberline Press was founded in 1975 by Clarence Wolfshohl, authors and readers have come to depend on Clarence and the press to produce beautiful books at reasonable prices. When Clarence announced that the press would cease operation at the end of 2010, a number of us put our heads together to think about how to keep it alive -- with the same commitment to beautiful books at reasonable prices.

The first step was to gather an editorial committee. You can learn more about the members by following the link below.

The second, drawing on six years of experience with virtual artists collective, was to lay out an editorial process based on consensus and commitment to use every available technology to produce the best books we can.

We will continue to produce hand made books in the Timberline tradition, but we will also use digital technology and print on demand. Whatever the printing method, though, the commitment is the same: beautiful books of fine poetry that readers can afford.
